Opening Your Pool

Running short of time this year to open your pool? Let one of Clearwater Pools trained service professionals do the job for you. Sometimes it may take our team a few trips back and forth to get your pool fully cleaned and operational depending on the situation and condition of your pool. Our professional team can have your entire pool opened and sparkling clear for the season, all you have to do is call our service team today at 753-0100 to book your appointment. No other retailer can give you the professional service and expert advice like Clearwater Pools can simply "Your Clear Choice".

With the appropriate approach, your pool can be opened quickly and trouble-free. Please note that some pools and related equipment may need special start-up treatment. Contact our service department at 753-0100 for more information.

For most pools, the method described below will make opening your pool easy and help it from becoming a troublesome or tedious task. Proper chemical treatment is very important when opening your pool.

  1. Pump pool cover off if necessary. If using leaf net just remove net and dispose of any debris on it.
  2. Reconnect all equipment and plumbing
  3. Fill pool to normal operating level (half way up the skimmer opening)
  4. Backwash filter, then put on regular filter cycle.
  5. Vacuum pool (you may want to put filter on waste/drain if there is a lot of fine sediment at bottom of pool, by doing this you will take water and debris directly out the waster line). By vacuuming to waste/drain you may need to top up water level again.
  6. After vacuuming and water has been circulating for 12 hours bring a sample of the water into Clearwater Pools for a thorough analysis.
  7. Our team will then tell you what you have to add and exactly how much of each product you have to add to properly balance your water.
  8. Then perform recommendations for water treatment (shock, balance alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanic acid, & ph)
  9. Allow water to recirculate continuously, back-washing and cleaning filter as required.

TIP: To prevent mildew from forming and causing sticking in storage, clean Winter Cover with a cleaner and dry thoroughly before placing in summer storage.
